How much does a salsa band cost in Barcelona?

Hiring Arturito & La Máquina del Sabor as a full nine-piece band costs from €2,500 in Barcelona; smaller line-ups and events outside the city are quoted individually.

Why no fixed price list? Because the price depends on four things that vary a lot: how many musicians are on stage, how long we play, where the event is and whether we need to bring sound and lighting. A two-set town festival in Girona is not a one-hour wedding cocktail on the Maresme coast with a trio. Comparison

Live salsa band vs. Latin DJ: which is right for your event in Barcelona?

Quick answer: when dancing is the heart of the event, a live band creates an energy a DJ cannot match; for tight budgets, tiny venues or many hours of background music, a DJ is more practical. For most weddings, the best option is both.

Our recommendation after twenty-six years of seeing both at the same party: put live music in the central moment people will remember, and let the DJ carry the night from midnight.

Which line-up suits which event?

For outdoor stages and crowds over 300, the full nine-piece band; for venues, terraces and weddings up to 200 guests, the quintet or septet; for private parties, the duo or trio.

FAQ

What people ask before booking

How much does it cost to hire Arturito & La Máquina del Sabor?

The full nine-piece band starts at €2,500 in Barcelona and its metropolitan area. Smaller line-ups (duo, trio, quintet or septet) and performances outside Barcelona are quoted per event, depending on duration, travel and technical needs. Quotes are free and sent within 48 hours.

Where does the band perform?

We perform across Catalonia and, covering travel costs within the quote, anywhere in Spain. There is no travel surcharge in Barcelona and its metropolitan area; for Girona, Tarragona and Lleida we add mileage, and for the rest of Spain we include transport and, when needed, accommodation.

How many musicians are in the band?

The full band is nine musicians: lead vocals, backing vocals, piano, bass, timbales, congas, bongó and bell, trumpet and trombone. From there we scale down to a duo for private parties and small venues, with trio, quintet and septet in between.

Do you play weddings for international couples?

Yes. Many of our weddings on the Costa Brava, in Sitges and in Barcelona are for international couples. We host in English, learn your first-dance song and the Latin repertoire works regardless of language: everybody dances.

Do you bring your own sound system?

Yes, we bring our own PA for weddings, private parties and mid-sized venues. For town festivals, festivals and large stages we work with the event production team and send our technical rider and stage plot in advance.

How long is a performance?

Typically two 45-60 minute sets with a short break, or a continuous 90-120 minute dance concert for town festivals. For weddings we split the music between the cocktail hour and the party.

How far in advance should we book?

For weddings and festivals from June to September, three to six months ahead; Saturday weddings in high season often book a year out. For corporate events and weekday private parties, four to six weeks is usually enough.
