Which corporate events book a salsa band in Barcelona?

Companies book Arturito & La Máquina del Sabor mainly for Christmas dinners, annual conventions with a closing party, office openings, company anniversaries, product launches with cocktails and team-building days with a dance workshop.

Corporate events have a particularity: guests do not know each other as well as at a wedding, and there is a mix of ages, nationalities and willingness to dance. Salsa, merengue and bachata break that quickly, because people dance them even if they do not know how, and the singer acts as host. At a 200-person Christmas dinner, when the managing director gets up to dance with the accounts team, the event has worked. We work with event agencies, HR and communications departments, and Barcelona hotels and venues that call us directly for their clients.

Which line-up fits the venue and the agenda?

For receptions and cocktails, the trio; for the party after a dinner of up to 150 people, the quintet; for conventions and parties of more than 200, the septet or the full band. If the event has speeches and awards, we play short 30-40 minute sets between blocks.

In practice the agenda matters more than headcount. An event with a reception, a dinner with speeches and a closing party needs three different musical moments, and covering them with one scalable band beats hiring three suppliers: the trio plays the reception, grows to a quintet or septet for the party, and leaves a playlist on our system during dinner. The 4 steps: 1) tell us the date, venue, agenda and headcount; 2) we send a proposal and closed quote within 48 hours; 3) we sign the contract; 4) a week before we coordinate with the venue and production. Compare the line-ups or write to us.

FAQ

Questions from companies and agencies

Do you invoice the company and sign a contract?

Yes. We issue VAT invoices to the company or agency, sign a contract covering timings, line-up and conditions, and provide public liability insurance. If the client requires an NDA or supplier registration, we handle it.

Can you work around speeches and award presentations?

Yes, this is standard at conventions and Christmas dinners. We play short 30-40 minute sets between agenda blocks and leave background music on our system during speeches and dinner.

Do you run salsa workshops for team building?

Yes. The workshop lasts around 60 minutes, led by the singer and a percussionist with live music, and needs no previous experience. It works for groups of 15 to 150 and can be followed by the party with the full line-up.

Do you play in hotels with sound limiters?

Yes. We know Barcelona's main hotels and event venues and regularly work with acoustic limiters, adjusting volume and line-up without the organiser having to intervene.

How far ahead should we book a Christmas dinner?

Corporate Christmas dinners cluster on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in the first half of December, and those dates sell out in October. Book in September or October. For other events, four to six weeks is usually enough.
